Our Music and Movement program continues to grow each week!  I think that it is a fabulous new offering to our storytime community and I really hope that this is a program that we continue to offer.

This program is geared toward 3 to 5 year-olds and an adult caregiver.  In this program, I primarily use a music and early literacy building approach called Education Through Music (ETM) and I incorporate one musical instrument or movement prop activity.
The Plan...
Opening Song (ETM): Come Along and Walk with Me

Name Song (ETM): Hi, I See You 

Movement Activity: Stretchy Band
Sang "Alphabet Song" slowly - bounced the stretchy band for each letter (helps with distinguishing the separation of L, M, N, O and P)

"Finale" from William Tell Overture - moved band up & down while marching

"All Together Now" - bounced band up/down & in/out while seated

"Popcorn" - start seated & bounce stretchy band then move to jumping up & down with band
Big Movement Song (ETM): Ring Around the Rosy
*NOTE- I do not sing "ashes, ashes, we all fall down" instead I sing "Hush-a, hush-a, we all fall down" to be more inclusive.  This is also an ETM practice.

Cluster Song (ETM): Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star
(Hide and seek game with a "twinkle star")

Big Movement Song (ETM): Rig a Jig Jig
